FAQ...

What types of services do you provide?

FOR INDIVIDUALS:  We work with individuals to address the their financial goals and needs during both the accumulation and distribution phases of their financial lives.  We assist our individual clients using a broad array of insurance and financial strategies and products to support the financial decisions they make as we go through that process.

FOR BUSINESSES:  For many small business owners, their personal finances are often intertwined with their business and therefore they must consider their personal retirement planning differently.  While we approach their retirement plans with the same philosophy as our individual clients, we also work with the business owner to evaluate and implement strategies that will help maximize the the various financial advantages their business may provide to them personally during their working years.

Just as important, we also help plan and prepare for their eventual retirement as some of those advantages they have been used to receiving may no longer be available as additional revenue or benefits.

Additionally, we help the business owner and their employees with the many insurance and financial products and solutions that make up the world of employee benefits planning including:

   *  401k, Simple IRAs, and other retirement planning vehicles
   *  Section 125/Cafeteria Plans, HSAs & FSAs
   *  Health, Life, Disability, Dental and Vision Insurance
   *  Other Supplemental Insurance products like accident, critical illness, etc.

We provide a full range of products and services to address the needs of our employer group clients through our benefits company, South Texas Benefits, LLC, which has been providing employee benefits since the mid-1990s.

ONGOING EDUCATION:  Additionally, we host periodic educational experiences that provide financial knowledge and insight into our planning and financial philosophy.  Individuals and clients are encouraged to attend our events as they provide foundational concepts and principles to build upon.

What can I expect at my initial consultation?

For the individual client, the purpose of the initial consultation is typically twofold. First, we want to have an honest open discussion about your current financial situation, including your goals and beliefs. Second, we will talk about what we believe and our process to help you achieve your financial goals. At the conclusion of this meeting, you and your advisor can usually decide if there is a good match and if further consultations would be productive and worthwhile.

During your initial meeting we can also help prospective clients in answering the four key questions everyone should know about in planning their retirement goals:

1. What rate of return do you have to earn on your savings and investment dollars to be able to retire at your current standard of living and have you money last through your life expectancy?
2. How much do you need to save on a monthly or annual basis to be able to retire at your current standard of living and have your money last until your life expectancy?
3. Doing what your are currently doing, how long will you have to work to be able to retire and live your current lifestyle until life expectancy?
4. If you don't do anything different than you are doing today, how much will you have to reduce your standard of living at retirement for you money to last you life expectancy?

What is the cost of my initial consultation?

There is no obligation or fee associated with any initial consultation, as it is intended as an exchange of information and ideas between the advisor and potential client. It is an opportunity for both to gain a better understanding of each other and evaluate what steps, if needed, should be taken next.
